Are YOU a hero?

Perhaps one of you has been able to help someone else in a particular way? Did you save someone from a fire? Or did you rescue someone from getting under a bus? You can tell me and the other readers about it in this topic!

Who's your favorite superhero?

Do you prefer Superman or would you rather meet Batman? Perhaps is Catwoman a better example of your superhero? Would you wear a cape? Or do you think that's rediculous? Would you buy yourself a nice car? Do you want a servant?

Superhero or villain?

If you would have one of the extraordinary abilities what would you do with it? Would you use it to become a superhero or would you become a villain?

I would love to be a superhero like the ladies of Charmed. This way you feel very special. You can help others and save their lives. Your life could have such a different meaning! It must be really satisfying to be able to help others every single day.

What's your opinion about Heroes?

How do you feel about Heroes? Do you watch the series? What do you think about the cast? Would you add other characters? Perhaps some other special abilities?

I think the series is quite awesome! I watch every single episode. The plot is really exciting, the characters are surprising sometimes. Elle was a big surprise for me personally. Suddenly there was new person who entered a particular scene with a wonderful gift, electricity shocks... It would be so cool if these gifts were really there in our lives! Maybe I would add another character with the gift of changing hem/herself into another object, a sort of chameleon. What do you think about this new character?

You would teleport yourself to ...

As you can see on the right side of the site, there's a poll on teleportation. It would be lovely to close your eyes and to think about a place and the next minute open your eyes and be in that particular place. It would be awesome to have that ability. So what are your favorite places to be? Are you more creative then I am?

I would definately go to Oceania. I'm always dreaming of spending my Christmas holidays in Australia on the beach in bikini, swimming, sunbading, ... I can't imagine how this must feel like, because here we celebrate Christmas in winter. I want to visit Perth, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. I've heard a lot of these cities and want to go sightseeing there.

Do YOU agree with my opinion, or would you go somewhere else? A more famous place perhaps?

Niki Sanders: ability of super strength

When Niki is in danger, her alter ego, the spirit of Jessica takes over. Jessica was her sister, but died because of their father. If Niki looks into the mirror she sees Jessica winking or smiling at her. Niki is sometimes trapped in her own body, because she can’t get the upper hand anymore. In the first few episodes she’s not in control and then Jessica has super strength. At the end of the first season, Niki controls her body again and she can use the super strength as well.

Peter Petrelli: ability to absorb other powers

When Peter gets close to other ‘heroes’ he can absorb their powers. He has all sorts of powers now. He can fly, move objects with his mind, paint/draw the future, regenerate, bend time and space, … In the beginning it’s hard to use these powers. Peter discovers he has to think about that particular person and then he can use that ability. It would be so cool to be able to do all these things, right?

Nathan Petrelli: ability to fly

In the first episode, Nathan rescues his brother. Peter jumped off a building, thinking he could fly. Instead of him proving to his brother he can fly, he falls down. Nathan flies and catches his brother. He has an amazing ability. When The Company catches him he just takes off in the air. Would you fly all over the world just to see the most amazing things?

Isaac Mendez: ability to paint/draw the future

An artist from New York who can paint and draw the future. His paintings suggest there is a bomb that will destroy New York. The sequence of his paintings is like a comic book. They need to be looked at in a certain order and way to reveal the meaning. He also makes the comic book ‘9th wonders’ where Hiro Nakamura is the hero. He predicts that Hiro comes to New York and does all sorts of things and they actually happen. If you would be in his position, what would you do with his ability?

Claire Bennet: ability to regenerate

A cheerleader from Odessa, Texas realizes one day she can regenerate. She can jump from high buildings without having a scratch on her. She’s pretty invincible… She even ends up at the mortuary when she gets stabbed with a stick by her boyfriend. Claire pulls out the stick herself and her body regenerates automatically. Unbelievable don't you think?

Hiro Nakamura: ability to bend time and space

He’s an ordinary office worker who can freeze time. His first attempt to prove his ability to himself is freezing the clock for just one second. Afterwards he went to a bar with his best friend and he wasn’t able to convince his friend his ability was really there… Then he teleported himself to the ladies room and was thrown out by the bouncer of the bar. The day after he took the metro and was thinking about New York, where he, at that particular moment, teleported himself to. Amazing right?

Special abilities

If I could choose any special ability, I would definately go for telekinese. I think it must be awesome to move objects with your mind. If you're watching tv and you want to have another drink, you can just think about it and the drink appears in your hand. It would be so amazing to be able to do all sorts of things just by thinking of them. The power of telekinese is such a wide-ranging ability. It's possible to move objects, so why not moving your body from one place to another, just by thinking of that one particular place? So what I prefer is a mix of telekinese and freezing time.

Which ability would you prefer?

"Where does it come from? Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream?" (quote tv series)

These are the questions where it all begins. Life questions, philosophy, … At first it seems like another regular series, nothing particular. Until it becomes clear that the geneticist, Chandra Suresh, was actually on to something. He discovered that some ordinary people have special abilities. He had the intention to contact these people to prepare them for the major change in their lives and to make them understand this gift. At the beginning of the series his son, Mohinder, finds out his father was murdered. He wants to know what his father was into. Bit by bit he gets closer to the truth.

In the first episode we meet a few main characters. Some of them don’t want to acknowledge the fact they have ‘powers’. Others are really happy to be special. At the end of the season everything makes more sense.
